More than I can think
More Than I Can Bear
Cool
Morris Day always comes to mind when I hear the word cool. Billy Dee Williams. Idris Elba. James Bond. Dick Tracy. A lot of other names and things come to mind when I think of the word cool, but not Jesus Christ. Growing up it never seemed cool to be a Christian. There were so many rules and regulations. However, I can think of a few other religions that are far more strict than Christianity. Jesus has never really been mainstream. A few fads every now and then. I’m sure you remember what would Jesus do and Jesus take the wheel. Kanye made it cool for Jesus to walk with me. God is Dope made it cool to rock pseudo-inspired apparel. God knew that salvation wasn’t a popularity contest. God knew that it wasn’t about likes and shares but more about followers. Remember that when you find yourself scrolling on social media. Who are you following?
Crucible
I looked up the definition of the word crucible. The first definition described a vessel used for melting a substance at high heat. However, the second and third definition stated that a crucible is a severe test or a place or situation in which concentrated forces interact to cause or influence change or development. Feel the fire. It's purifying. It’s purging. It’s testing. It’s creating something battle tested. The crazy part is the crucible isn’t broken during this process. It’s built to endure, and so are you. I know last year was hard. I know it was a lot. You’re still standing. You survived. Now it’s time for you to thrive.
Casting Call
When you hear the words, “casting call" most people think audition. I did a little research on casting. I found out about a metalworking process where metal is put in a crucible or mold, cooled and then broken out of the mold. I thought of God. God uses the metal, but to create anything the metal had to change forms. Heat was applied. It changed states. It changed forms. It was liquidfied. Then poured and cooled, which brought it back to its original form as a solid, but in a completely different shape. God is putting out a casting call. He wants to reshape us. He wants to recast us. We just have to show up.
Lover
It’s kinda funny that there are natural things that we seek, yet God is the ultimate provider and creator of all things that are pleasurable. Everything we could possibly want we can find in God. God is the lover of our soul. He created it. He created every desire, every like, every want and every need. He created every dream and every fantasy. So, as you find yourself looking for your heart's desire. Song of Solomon reminds us to find the one whom our soul loves.. Look no further….it's God.
